Poker Run and Chicken Wing contest.
Registration: noon - 1:00pm
Poker Run: 1pm - 3pm
Entry Fee: $10 per person
All types of boats are welcome to participate.

All chicken wings must be home-made. NO STORE BOUGHT.
Chicken wings will be divided into 2 Categories:
A. Sweet / Mild / Medium
B. Spicy / Hot
*Should your chicken wings fall into more than one category, you will be responsible for selecting which category you’d like to compete in.
Entries
A. Each participant will have a Chicken Wing name card.
B. The card will include the following:
1) Judging number
2) Name of Chicken Wings
3) Heat Level of the Chicken Wings (Sweet, Mild, Medium or Spicy, Hot)
NOTE: If you would like to add a Description and/or Ingredients, feel free to do so. *Please be sure to note common allergies. E.g. nuts.
C. Feel free to bring anything that will complement your chicken Wings (Dipping Sauces)
Judging
A. Each chicken wing participant should ensure they have 2 of their best wings set aside for the judges
B. Participants will be responsible for having their chicken Wings heated, ready to serve at the Brendel Lake pavilion Extension cords and powers strips will be available but feel free to bring your own.
Note: Please arrange to have your chicken wings ready for people to enjoy around 3:30 pm. Judging will begin promptly at 4:30 pm.
C. Each entry of Chicken Wings will be assigned a number and will be judged anonymously.
D. Chicken Wing Award will start around 4:45 pm
E. Criteria
1) Appearance / (undercooked meat or overcooked meat) Wing should look appetizing. The flaps and drumettes should be meaty and not skimpy. The skin should have a crisp texture or have an even coating of golden or browned sauce; there should be any visible burned or pale spots. You should clearly see the shape of the wings and the integrity should be intact. No broken bones or mystery meat
2) Texture / Tenderness/ Texture & Tenderness: Texture (Crispiness, not greasy, fatty, soft, leathery, or burnt.) Perfectly cooked, not overly dry or undercooked and rubbery. Tenderness (the meat inside the wing should be juicy and tender. Succulent and easy to get off the bone.)
3) Taste / Full of flavor and taste that you want more. Wings must taste sweet or savory. Hot wings should pack some heat
4) Heat is tasting Spicy or Hot
5) Overall Taste
Winners will be announced
A. Best Overall – People’s Choice – This will be the chicken wings judged to be the best of all submissions and will be the winner of the “Golden Wing”
B. Sweet /Mild / Medium – This will be the tastiest chicken wing deemed most in line with what is considered authentic traditional chicken wings.
C. Spicy / Hot (Heat) – This award will be for the hottest chicken that is still tasty and not just heat for heat’s sake.
