Boating and fishing are activities that LVIA members enjoy. Please stay up to date on the rules and laws.
Summary of rules: Please travel counter-clockwise, adhere to No Wake Zones, which include all canals in Lakewood Village, and be mindful of children playing at the shore as you go by on your boat.
As a courtesy to our neighbors and excessive erosion and potential damage to docks and boats, please keep your boat speeds down until the high water on Lake Neva and Brendel Lake subside. Boat Wakes – Many folks do not realize that when a wake is generated, even if it is in the middle of the lake, it will travel at the same height until it hits something (a sea wall, a dock or a boat). Please be considerate and keep your speed low when lakes levels are high.
Another reminder:
Boat Mooring Lines – When lake levels change, check and adjust your mooring lines. High water shortens the effective length of standard dock lines, leaving boats tighter to docks and more prone to wake damage. Each year, boats are harmed, not by passing boats, but by lines that weren’t adjusted for higher water. Make sure your lines allow the proper range of movement.
